Another group of Hollywood stars is coming together to speak out against antisemitism.
Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Cheryl Burke, Jenna Dewan and Scooter Braun are just a few of the famous faces participating in the recently launched New Year, New Voices campaign.
“I’m a proud Jewish woman,” Emmanuelle Chriqui shares in a clip released on Instagram Tuesday. “I hope you’ll stand against antisemitism with me.” Ginnifer Goodwin adds, “It’s a new year with new voices joining us every day.“
Conceived by best-selling author Samantha Ettus, the campaign aims to support the Jewish community amidst increasing acts of hatred and violence. Colton Underwood, Bryan Greenberg, Debra Messing and Nia Dennis are also included in the PSA.
After Hamas attacked Israel last October, the Anti-Defamation League recorded more than 2,000 antisemitic incidents in the United States over the subsequent two months. That’s a 337 percent increase from the same time period the previous year.
“In the wake of overwhelming silence at the Golden Globes and the Emmys, I wanted to bring together prominent voices speaking out against Jew hatred and showing the world that never again is now,” Ettus said in a statement. “Propaganda has made too many people feel that standing up against antisemitism is political. It isn’t; just like hatred of any other ethnic group, we need to stop it in its tracks.“
